Central Topeka, Topeka, KS – Tortilla Jacks – Tacos of Love

If you’re here from out of town go to this hole in the wall Tortilla Jacks! Anybody from Topeka knows that the tacos here always bring a smile to one’s face – AND someone else’s. I’ll explain why…You’ll see someone you know there every single time, that will make you happy! This absolute truth that has never once been disputed since Topeka was founded December 5th, 1854!

I’ve always wondered why this place was so good. Then one day while eating in the back dining room I found out why…

They were bringing supplies in through the back door, when I saw that it was all top quality and  brand name. NONE of it was bulk restaurant stuff. They use original Wonder Bread, the sauce was Pace Picante, the mints were Star Lite, and even the dish soap was Dawn! This shows a commitment to quality in my eyes that likely pervades throughout everything they do. I’m gonna go out on a limb and bet that the ice is Lindy Spring.
